Trip to Vinnitsya with orphans from Educational Outreach program
By: Lena Voznyuk
As I wrote about last time, this year we started a new ministry: working in “specialized colleges” (trade schools) with orphan teenagers. This is a new experience for us, with new possibilities and challenges.
We met and became involved with nearly 50 teens.
Even in this short amount of time, we were able to be a helping hand to many kids: assisting them with finding jobs, paying for medications, food, clothes, and offering moral support.
Each week we have held classes for them about independent behavior (life skills classes).
May is the end of the academic year in Ukraine. We decided to surprise the kids at the end of the schoolyear and take them on a trip to Vinnitsya, a city in central Ukraine, for a tour.
So on May 17th we went with a group of 35 kids to visit the most remarkable place in the city: the unique musical fountain called Roshen, the biggest in Europe.
This trip was truly blessed! Orphans from different trade schools were able to meet each other on this trip. We all spent the day together in a casual setting and became good friends.
The kids were absolutely thrilled about the walk in the city and the fountain, and we had tons of fun on the road.
Please pray for these kids and their salvation! May God give us the needed words and support for every child.
Thank you!
