Dear Friends of Last Bell,
The Board of Directors is devoted to the longevity of Last Bell’s service to orphanage graduates in Zhytomyr, Ukraine. We are deeply committed to keeping the organization relevant and sensitive to their needs. It is with this mindset that we have invested in Last Bell’s long-term stability by establishing a new management role.
We are pleased to announce that Megan Hershey has accepted the position of Director of U.S. Operations. She started on August 3rd, and has skillfully acquainted herself with the ministry and its people.
Megan is responsible for organizational development in the United States and administrative support for our Ukrainian operations. She reports directly to the board.
Megan joins Last Bell after ten years of service at Outreach, Inc. in Indianapolis, primarily as Director of Community Based Services. Her prior work experience was in attachment therapy and public school social work. She graduated with honors from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio with a degree in Social Work; and earned a graduate degree with high honors in Social Work Leadership from Indiana University in Indianapolis.
Megan brings ability and proven success in the areas of program development, management, and relationship-building. With these and her additional strengths in counseling and advocacy, the leaders of Last Bell are confidant that Megan is the very best person for this position. She will play a key role in helping the organization mobilize communities to help our orphanage graduates survive and thrive.

We’d like to offer as well this enthusiastic letter from Megan’s colleague, Mike Elliott, the Director of Volunteer Services at Outreach, Inc.:
To the people of Last Bell Ministries,
Megan Hershey was born with a desire for justice in her DNA.
One of the main reasons I wanted to work at her former organization was to learn from her. I had this privilege for four years and got see justice and compassion flow out from her on a daily basis. I think what makes Megan unique is her rare ability to sense need, then respond by creating systems and rhythms that actually enable transformation.
I have come to know Megan as an advocate with foundations deeply rooted in the beautiful loving revolution of the Kingdom of God. Through years of self-reflection and deep faith, Megan has developed into a mature and aware fighter for people. In knowing Megan, I hope you will experience what I have in working alongside her: someone who makes you feel known, cared for, listened to, challenged, equipped, and empowered.
Last Bell, you are a lucky bunch of people to have Megan Hershey on your team. She is a true servant leader.
Sincerely,
Mike Elliott
